BT Hoagies

BT Hoagies has been a work in progress for several years.  The Bepler's were orginally from Weirton, WVA & Willamsport, PA. Jean Plankenhorn Bepler and Gary Bepler met while Gary attended Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA.  Gary played on the football team for Lycoming and Jean was in nursing school.  One of their favorite places to hang out was at the local hoagie shop.  Any time the family visited Williamsport, we always had to bring home hoagies!  There was nothing like them in Ohio!

Our family had always wanted to open a Pennsylvania style sub shop in Ohio since moving to Columbus over 40 years ago.  The opportunity presented itself  when we decided to remodel our first DQ Restaurant property on Noe Bixby Road in Southeast Columbus.  The building was over 40 years old and had outgrown it's original capacity.  The building had been remodeled and expanded several times in the 30 years the Bepler's owned the Dairy Queen.

On the nearly 2 acres we tore down the existing insurance agency and the old DQ to build the 8200 square foot shopping center known as Bepler Retail Center.  The retail center is home to the Bepler Insurance Agency, Dairy Queen Restaurant and BT Hoagies.  The Dairy Queen and BT Hoagies share a "food court" style dining room.  It is a pleasant dining experience for everyone!  We have free Wi-Fi, TV's with an atmosphere friendly to all!  There is also a patio to enjoy your lunch or dinner outside on a nice day.

So...you are wondering about the name?  "BT" Hoagies...it stands for Bepler & Todd!  Gary & Jean's daughter Luann married her husband Mike Todd in 1990.  You might recognize Mike if you have ever attended a Columbus Blue Jackets game!  Mike is the arena host for the CBJ along with his multitude of other talents.  Mike and Luann met at Ohio University while Mike was earning his Communications/Broadcasting degree and Luann earned her Business/Restaurant degree.  The partnership between the Bepler's & Todd's formed in 1997 when Mike joined the DQ business when we purchased the DQ in Pickerington, Ohio.

At BT Hoagies our food reflects our commitment to exceptional quality.  We have chosen the highest quality of Italian meats and philly steak and serve them on the famous AMOROSO hoagie rolls.  Any one from Pennsylvania will recognize the Amoroso bakery name!  We are also proud to serve Seattle's Best Coffee.  Catering is also one of our specialties!  Our Hoagie platter is great for any event, picnic or party!
